Net Fishing!

Hey there guys!

Damn, it has been 10 days since I last uploaded a blog post. I'm got way caught up with my work loads. Oh, have you heard? Sabah was hit by an Earthquake recently. If you haven't check it out, do check out my previous blog post about the Earthquake.

Back to the main topic, I went back to my home town Labuan Island a few weeks ago. As most of you may know, the island is pretty small and there are nothing much for me to do. So, I came up with an adventurous idea. Net Fishing! It basically means fishing with nets. It gets interesting, in a drain! The drain is located somewhere near to where I live.

Packed my cameras, flash light and tadaaaaa! Yes, it was dark. Do check out my the video I made for this post. Also, subscribe to my Youtube channel! By the way, I know this isn't something I should be bragging about but hey! I've reached a thousand views on my channel! It's not much but thanks a lot guys! What a milestone it is for me.

The fishes we caught aren't as big as you think. I don't know what are their names but it is locally known as "sapat". They're more likely to be used as fishing baits to fish bigger fishes. We also caught a long "snaky" fish known as the snake head. There are like tons of baby snake heads in the drain.

However, I think the biggest prize was the tortoise we caught. Most of you may know, I'm a reptile lover. It was a catch and release.

Anyway, be sure to check out the video, like our Facebook page and follow our blog. Thanks for supporting! You're awesome. Stay tuned for our upcoming videos and blog posts. I had the opportunity to interview CrackoArtGroup (video will be uploaded soon) and also, I will be heading to Brunei and do some reviews/guides.

As always, be nasty, stay happy!

Tagal Luanti at Sungai Moroli, Ranau, Sabah. (Swimming with the fish)

Hey ya'll!
Before I start, fish or fishes? Haha. I just found out that the plural of fish is actually fish and not fishes. Fishes is used to refer to multiple species of fish. My whole childhood was a lie haha!

Have you ever got massages from fish/fishes? I'm not talking about the small nibbling ones, I'm talking about the almost two foot long ones. They're called "Ikan Pelian" also known as the Malaysian Mahseer which is consisted in the family of Cyprinidae. They're harmless as they suck dead skins off your body. It does get ticklish at times.

Check out this video I did in Tagal Luanti!

"Tagal" is a local Kadazandusun dialect that defines "tagal" as "no fishing". Fishing activities are strictly prohibited inside and around the river. The purpose of "tagal" is to preserve the environmental and ecosystem for future generations. Besides, the fishes here are too friendly to be 'fished'.

Tagal Luanti is located approximately 131 Kilometres from Kota Kinabalu which is roughly 2 hours and 30 minutes drive away. If you're planning to climb Mount Kinabalu from Kundasang, make some time to get a fish massage here. It's only 30 minutes drive from Kundasang.

Here are the charges/fees, (20 minutes per session)

Malaysian
Adult : RM 5
Kids : RM2
Full body swimming : RM 10

International Nationalities
Adult : RM10
Kids : RM 5
Full body swimming : RM25

Fish food (To attract more fish to your spot)
20 cents per pack (Limited to 1-2 packs per person)

Camera/Recording Devices (Charged per group)
RM3 only

They open daily from 8.30am to 5pm. Oh, just a heads up, if you're going over for a fish massage, call +6088-876988 to check if they're open. They'll only close if the river's water level is high/flooded and raining.

I've included a route I got from Google Maps, starting point at Kota Kinabalu International Airport to Ranau. Yea, you're probably looking at a 3 hours drive depending on the traffic conditions. I hope this helps. :)

Be sure to check out the video I made and subscribe to my Youtube channel for upcoming videos! It'll only take 3 minutes of your life :)

As always, you people stay awesome a'ight! Be nasty, stay happy!
