The Brothers

Sup ya'll!

I'd like to dedicate this post to my brothers (bruhs). I wouldn't be the person I am today without my bruhs. As of today, we've tried eating a whole bar of raw salted butter, lemons, Thai chilli powder and more! We're rascal as we could be when we're together.

Yes, I'm the eldest. The age gap between me and my lil bruhs is enormous. Gabriel is my second bruh, Samuel is the youngest among us. We have different talents, skills and interests but one thing is for sure, we know FUN. Another thing we have in common, all our names end with an "EL". Nathana"el", Gabri"el", Samu"el".

Left: Gabriel    Centre: Samuel    Right: Me!
Gab and Sam when they were young.
Me and Sam. Picture taken 5 years ago.
Do you have siblings? Do you argue with them? That's normal. You would usually argue and sleep it off. No matter how far you turn you backs on them, they are still your siblings. Me and my bruhs, we've argued uncountable times. I have my anger management issues, Gabriel has the "hulk" thingy and Samuel on the other hand is the one who always give in. That's why we're perfect in our own ways.

Bruthas! Brothers! Bruhs!
Gabriel: He was born with a strawberry mark on his head
We love water! Swimming's our thing.
We have a cousin, a girl who has been living with us since she was young. She's now one of us. :) As crazy as we could be, she would join the crazy frenzy.

Yeap. That's Rachel. Also ends with an "EL"
I love exploring and venturing new stuffs. When I say stuffs, it means plural like a lot! Music, animals, cars, computers, technologies, science, industrial, politics, sports, and multiple hobbies. I don't just try them out, I learn them thoroughly. That is with the push from Steph though :)

Me: Pumpin' up the volume
Gabriel, he loves computers. He is a hardcore gamer. Hacker too? He's the best computer literate dude I know.
Gabriel
Samuel, he just loves being unique. He likes parkour/free running. He wishes to be a full time Youtuber too! He's unique in his own ways.

If for a second you think the picture above was edited, you're wrong.
As I've said earlier, we're just plain crazy. That's why we're brothers. I admit, I've grown older and so did they. However, we're as young as we can be when we're together. Kudos my bruh bruhs!

Nuff' said.

Binondo, Chinatown (Philippines part 3)

Hey there guys!

It has been almost a week since I last blogged and darn it, I miss blogging. Firstly, I wanna thank you guys for visiting my blog and subscribing to my newsletter, you are an awesome support!

You may have read my posts on travelling in the Philippines, this is part 3. If you haven't check the first 2 parts, here are the links! Intramuros (Part 1) and Ermita (Part 2).

Binondo also nicknamed Chinatown is the official Chinatown in Manila extending its influence to places of Santa Cruz, Quiapo and San Nicolas. Amazing fact, it is the OLDEST CHINATOWN IN THE WORLD! Dayummm! Oldest! It was established in the 1594 by the Spaniards. It is located just outside of Intramuros but accross the Pasig River. You'll find yourself surounded by chinese stores, vendors and restaurants. That's because business owners are mostly Chinese-Filipino.

Me and Steph walked to Binondo all the way from Intramuros. It was a long long long walk across the bridge. Each ligaments/muscles in our legs were tearing apart bit by bit. Overall, it was exhilarating. Navigating your way into Binondo is easy but still, having Google Maps with you would be handy at times.

I had to keep my DSLR in my Caribee backpack so we used our Samsung Galaxy S4 and Note 3 to take these pictures. Not all but some of em'.

Yes, there are lots of skyscrapers in Binondo along Escolta Street which runs parallel to the Pasig River. The skyscrapers are not as fancy nor new looking. They are fine examples of early skyscrapers design in the Philippines.

There is a Filipino-Chinese friendship arch and that is considered as the entry point. From Intramuros, it is approximately 1.5km walk. The sun was scorching hot so we got ourselves small glass bottles of Pepsi which you rarely get here in Malaysia. As far as I could remember, a bottle costs 13₱ (RM1).

Binondo Church also known as Minor Basilica of St. Lorenzo Ruiz is one of the oldest church I've seen so far. It was founded by Dominican priests in 1596 to serve their Chinese converts to Christianity. However, they reconstructed it over and over due to damages inflicted during the world war II. You guys have to visit this church!

Pardon me. I'm not really an enthusiast for taking pictures of food. I normally get so hungry I chomped the whole meal before I could even blink. However, if you're looking for authentic Chinese cuisine, you're in the right place. The food here is awesome! If you're looking for fast food chains, you'll find Jolibee, Mang Inasal, Chow King, or Mc Donalds with ease.

For those who are looking for Halal food, it is not impossible. You'll find stalls that serve Halal food normally in food court of a mall.
It is also common to see kids roaming around asking for money/food/drinks. Don't hit them, you're in their country. If you don't like it, reject with manners. We bumped into some too, we gave them our Pepsi leftovers and hell they were euphoric.

We bumped into the Manila Traffic!
Oh! You can take a Calesa tour around town. It's a horse-drawn carriage. Still, you've gotta make sure you got the right deal or they might cut you off your guard and little did you know, they ripped you off with their price. I'm not saying it will happen, but it happened to me once. :)

This picture was from my first trip to Binondo years back!

So, you're looking for cheap stuffs? You love shopping? HAHAHA! Say or ask no more! In Binondo, there are two ways to shop. Malls or Bazaars. Here is where your negotiation skills will be tested to the maximum limit. Everything here is cheap! It comes with a tag that says "Made in China" though haha! But hey! Still, who doesn't like cheap stuffs right? Here's a map and the names of places you can shop till you drop. DROP!

So, here are the places you can go for shoppings. It is all within a walking distance.
  1. 999 Mall
  2. 168 Mall
  3. Meisic Mall
  4. Juan Luna Plaza
  5. Divisoria Bazaar
If you could, make a visit to Divisoria. You won't regret it.

Well, that's it for Binondo. I'll be posting about Ortigas in my upcoming blog posts. I hope you find some of my info useful. Personally, I love writing about my travels because I get to visualize the timeline of my period abroad. You'll only get the best memories when you travel.

Again, here are my links to previous posts of my Philippines trip. Intramuros (part 1) and Ermita (part2). Be sure to check it out!

I'll be posting blog posts probably twice to three times per week as I'm trying to cope up with my upcoming Youtube project. So bear with me :)

You! Yes YOU! Be nasty, stay happy. Thanks for supporting us.
Salamat sa iyong suporta!

Love, Nath.

Anniversary in Kasih Sayang Resort like Stars!

Sup peeps!

You don't need to be a millionaire to throw a good anniversary for your partner. All you need is RM5000. Kiddingggg joke joke haha!

Jokes aside, proper planning and time is all you need. We've been together for 6 years now and I guess it is time to do something we don't usually do. Forget about fine dining in an expensive restaurant, candle light dinner (eating candles) or giving presents.

So, we've decided to celebrate our anniversary in a local resort known as Kasih Sayang Resort. Normally, we travel to nearby countries. This year, we're looking for a place far away from the city.
Just being away from hectic work schedules, pollution and other negativity for a day is all we need.

"Kasih Sayang" is a Malay word defined as love. It would be a great theme for anyone who wants to celebrate their anniversary here. To those who are reading this using your mobile device, there's like 30 pictures all together in this post so I apologise if it might be laggy for you to load.

Kasih Sayang Resort is located in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. It is easy to navigate your own way there. All you need to do is make your way to Menggatal town and you'll see that there is a road by the name "Kokol".

From Kota Kinabalu International Airport, it is approximately 25KM to Menggatal town. You then need to drive uphill for about 11.5KM. You'll eventually come across Kokol Haven Resort on your way up. Keep going uphill until you find Kasih Sayang Resort.

Kasih Sayang Resort is surrounded with mother nature's tropical forest. Standing at 2400 feet above sea level, Kasih Sayang offers you fresh and cool breeze so you can rejuvenate you body, mind and soul. The temperature here is between 18°C to 23°C.

Kota Kinabalu's city can be seen clearly from up here. Besides that, the view of the sea, sun and mountain will make you feel that you are in heaven. It was on a bustling Saturday noon, packed and ready to go.

The sun was blazing hot but the cold air soothes my skin nicely. If you think the first few pictures were lovely, wait till you see what they did to our room! EPICNESS. I felt like a friggin' VIP. Seriously, like a friggin' star! I've never had roses' petals dazzled all over my bed, my tub, or even on the floor and it smells utterly aromatic.

Bed-dazzled with roses' petals

Note: Camera doesn't work well in low light. Sorry :(
Still think this is nice enough? Wait, I've got better ones. There was a nicely decorated coffee table for two on the balcony. Mix it up with the view and nature's sound, DOPE-NESS. Plus, we have complimentary coffees, tea bags and mineral water. There are robes for us too!

DOPE!

The resort's restaurant is amazing! I could grab a cup of coffee and literally sit there for hours just dazing at the scenery. Breakfast set was good too. Oh, there is a rabbit pen right under the balcony and is viewable. Like, how close can you get to nature right.. Heh!

Dem wabbittsss
Here's what we had for our dinner and night out.. I had uhmm, I think it was sliced lamb with rice and Stephenie had mushroom chicken chop.

Night view from the restaurant. Amazingly beautiful.
I seriously need to get some sleep. It is close to 1 in the morning now sheeeesh. Anyway, if you're planning on making a trip here, check out Kasih Sayang's Website and make sure you give em' a call for more enquiries or reservations. Thank you Kasih Sayang Resort for the wonderful experience!

As always, be nasty stay happy peeps! Cheers! :)
